According to CityRating.com, Salt Lake City’s “violent crime rate… was higher than the national violent crime rate average by 74.59% ” (CityRating.com). We live in a day and time of rising violence, creating a greater need for every individual to protect themselves and those we love. Who would have known that such danger lurked in our city?

Nearly two years ago, CBS news reported the story of a 25 year old year old man and his two year old son who woke to the noise of three armed intruders. The father quickly responded by pulling out his handgun, exchanging fire with the intruders and ultimately saved his own life and the life of his toddler son.
